With a powerful and sultry signature vocal, singer/songwriter Sammy Allen is a natural born performer who has been compared to the likes of Pat Benatar, Kelly Clarkson and Heart. Her music has been placed on hit television shows such as NBC's Friday Night Lights. Additionally, her song "Torn" is featured in the original motion picture Vice, starring Michael Madsen and Daryl Hannah (Madsen also makes a cameo appearance in the song's music video).
Originally from Virginia, Sammy grew up in a musical family and was exposed to music at a very young age. She moved to New York City in pursuit of a vocal career, landing work as a singing bartender in a popular East Village karaoke lounge. But it wasn't until a trip to Los Angeles - where she was introduced to Josh Paul of Daughtry and Scott Ueda of Glitch - when things began to take shape. Sammy relocated to sunny Southern California and the trio formed the popular LA band, Seven Stitches. The group drew big crowds and received critical praise, winning awards for Best Female Vocal, Song of the Year and Best Rock Band at the ALL ACCESS music awards.
In 2009, Sammy Allen decided to step out on her own and began working on solo material. Her forthcoming debut EP, BEHIND THE SUN, features collaborations with GRAMMY®-nominated writer/producer Jeeve (Nicole Scherzinger, Paulina Rubio, Carlos Santana, Thalia, Tupac Shakur), writer/producer Mark Nubar (Eden's Crush, Howard Hewett) and singer/songwriter Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold of Hypnogaja, who joins Sammy in a duet on her first single, "I Can See Into Forever" (available on iTunes, Amazon and online retailers worldwide).
